Trees shaped and palms cleaned up, cut down and hauled off — Mesa, Maricopa County.
The big lots east of Country Club still carry mature citrus and date palms that nobody has trimmed in years, and that is where most of this work comes from. A palm left alone stacks up dead fronds, seed pods and weight nobody sees from the ground until a monsoon wind finds it. Poda de palmas is the job Nefi names directly, and it runs alongside the rest of it: shade trees shaped so the canopy is not fighting the roofline, citrus opened up instead of rounded off with a hedge trimmer, dead limbs taken out, and trees removed entirely when that is what the yard needs. What comes down goes on the trailer the same visit.
Monsoon season is what turns a skipped trim into a problem in Mesa. A top-heavy palm or an untouched mesquite with years of growth on one side is the thing that splits when the wind comes through in July and August. Trimming before that window is a different job than clearing a limb off a fence after it.
Water, rock, grass and shade — the whole yard, by one crew.
